Rolling Your Face

January 22, 2021

There are plenty of cited “benefits” to Jade or Rose Quartz rolling from de-puffing under-eye circles, to minimizing fine lines, to helping with skincare product absorption. According to Derms, Jade rollers, like any facial massage, do help stimulate circulation and aid lymphatic drainage, which can help decrease puffiness and better absorb serums and vitamins.

“Happy Lights” Therapy

December 26, 2019

Light therapy is a way to treat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and certain other conditions by exposure to artificial light. SAD is a type of depression that occurs at a certain time each year, usually in the fall or winter.

Light therapy is used as a treatment for several conditions, including:

  • SAD
  • Types of depression that don’t occur seasonally
  • Jet lag
  • Sleep disorders
  • Adjusting to a nighttime work schedule
  • Dementia

“How does the HappyLight work?”

Below is the list a list of the most common ways light therapy changes lives – from internet research.

Sunlight is an essential ingredient for a healthy lifestyle, but many of us don’t get the amount of bright light that we need to experience its benefits. A HappyLight brings the daylight indoors by emitting a bright, full spectrum light that safely mimics sunlight but without harmful UV rays.

This is particularly powerful on rainy days when there’s not a ray of sunshine in sight.

Ever notice how energized you feel on a sunny day? The hormone serotonin rises with exposure to bright light, and serotonin (also known as the “happiness hormone”) naturally lifts our mood and energy level.

Our body also sets its internal clock to a 24-hour cycle with light. The light-sensitive hormone melatonin promotes sleep and is regulated with daylight.  Regulating melatonin levels has far reaching positive effects not only on our sleep but our overall health.

The HappyLight and light therapy are most well known for being a natural, drug-free alternative for combating the winter blues. If you’ve ever found long winters challenging and noticed your mood suffering as a result, it may because you’re just not getting enough healthy light during the winter months.

You can use a HappyLight while eating a healthy breakfast, getting your zen on in your yoga space, or even while listening to calming music during work. No matter where you choose to use your HappyLight, it can help support other healthy routines in your life.

Let’s talk about Fats.

Fats are important for Health. However, there are “good fats” and “bad fats”. This time discussion is about Essential Fatty Acids EFAs – the “good fats”.

These are vital nutritional components that our bodies need for many functions. EFAs found in the seeds of plants and in the oils of cold-water fish. They sometimes referred as vitamin F and cannot be made by the body; they must be supplied in the diet.

Many factors, including stress, allergies, disease and diet high in fried foods, can increase the body nutritional needs for essential fatty acids.

Consider adding these “good fats” to your diet. Eat healthy and be healthy!

Since I bought the Instant Pot/IP- my mornings start with yummy oatmeal in a lazy way ….

Almost every evening I combine all ingredients in the glass ball and place it into the IP on wholegrain (35-45 min) with delay option. (I add a little bit of water in the base pot than place the glass ball with all ingredients on the steam rack).

My recipe:

I like my oatmeal with some milk.

1 cup of milk ( any kind you like and depends of how you like your oatmeal you might add more)

4 cubes of ice ( to keep milk cold overnight and  mix milk with water)

1 TBS- Quick Cook Steel Cut Oats

1 tsp-Hemp Hearts Raw Shelled Seeds

1 tsp- Black Chia Seeds

1 tsp- peanut butter

1/2 tsp- raw sugar

pinch of salt

pinch of cayenne pepper or turmeric

Here we are…… in a morning fresh and yummy oatmeal… I like to add dry cranberries right before I eat it….. Enjoy!!!!!!
